Beyond the Mic: Navigating Entrepreneurial Tales with Naison Pillay of ‘The African CEO’

Amidst the frenzy of social media trends dominating content creation, podcasts offer a refreshing departure, demanding deliberate planning and editing. While platforms like TikTok and Instagram captivate younger audiences with their typical lighthearted allure, podcasts beckon those seeking a more substantive engagement. Enter The African CEO, a platform aimed at enabling entrepreneurs on the African continent to build impactful, sustainable and profitable businesses.

A Student’s Dream, An Entrepreneur’s Reality

Naison Pillay’s journey is one marked by ambition, resilience, and an unwavering determination to succeed. As an Engineering student at Stellenbosch University, Naison dared to dream big when he created a nifty travel app that ended up being a huge success. He later sold the business and it wouldn’t be long before he started his next venture, which was not as much of a success as the first.

Although Naison’s entrepreneurial journey was not without its fair share of challenges, he refused to let adversity define him. He recalled how he had once given a workshop to Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) students at Stellenbosch University LaunchLab and how much he enjoyed it. This would be the seed planted for him to later start his current venture.
