We produce sustainable, high value biosurfactants from wastes derived from the vegetable oil refining industry. These biosurfactants have numerous applications in the cosmetic, cleaning and agrochemical sectors where their properties (surface-active, emulsifying, foaming, detergency, and antimicrobial activities) make them a key ingredient.
While petrochemically derived synthetic surfactants constitute the current status quo, there is a growing shift toward more sustainable alternatives, mostly spurred on by growing consumer consciousness. Despite this, current biosurfactant production remains limited and is localized at a few hubs in the global North, leaving delocalized formulators underserviced. At ReSurfify, we aim to solve this by producing biosurfactants cheaper and closer to the market.
