GeoSmart finds solutions to geographical problems by combining out-of-the-box geospatial thinking with cutting-edge technologies, such as geographical information systems (GIS), earth observation satellites, and global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).
Our vision is to demystify the perceived complexities of geospatial technologies and provide simple products and services that effectively solve geographical problems. GeoSmart was founded by Prof. Adriaan van Niekerk and is a spin-off company of Stellenbosch University.
The company, GeoSmart Space Pty Ltd, has been operating since 2015. The company directors are Prof Adriaan van Niekerk and Dr Anita Nel. Prof Van Niekerk is currently the CEO.
Geosmart can be considered a micro-enterprise, given that it provides business services and currently has three employees and a turnover of less than R3 million per year.
