Crime mapping is the digitization, mapping, and analysis of crime incidents, used to identify patterns and trends, and highlight hotspots. It serves as an invaluable decision support system in the fight against crime.
The objective is first to establish a digital and accurate spatial and temporal crime incident database, digitized using a spatial data-capturing app. And second to map and analyse the data through the application of geo-spatial technology, viewed through an interactive web-mapping portal.
