African Sun Media is a specialist supplier of publishing, print and design services for the higher education market and the private sector. African Sun Media was founded in 2003 and has a print and production plant at Stellenbosch University, which it represents as its scholarly press and print partner. In 2009, Sun Media Bloemfontein was established and in 2012, the Studio was added to the company’s profile to service the growing demand for graphic design and commercial printing. As a wholly incorporated design facility, African Sun Media Studio offers the entire gamut of design, print and media solutions. In 2019, with the investment by a Designated Group company in African Sun Media, and changes to upper management, its BBBEE rating was elevated to a Level 1 Contributor. Ever mindful of being part of the broader community, African Sun Media established the African Sun Foundation, a vehicle with which the company engages local disadvantaged communities in its philanthropic efforts, making social responsibility a key area of focus for the company and its team.
