We are pleased to announce that the #IdeasforChange Smart Kayamandi Challenge finalists have been chosen. In this round, the finalists are Chuma Lalendle & Sbahle Mgijima, whose idea is a seamless solution to improve the collection process of waste pickers in Kayamandi, through Smart Trolley Recycling. Engineering student, Retief Louw’s idea is to invent a WhatsApp Business account – called New Queue – that allows the Kayamandi community members to avoid long queues at public facilities. The third finalists are Tinobokashe Ncube & Onai Mtengwa who aim to co-design, develop and co-produce an all-inclusive mobile service platform –ICTS for Home Gardens- that will enable home garden growers to supplement agricultural and nutritional knowledge and access services, which will reinforce their socio-economic position.
We would like to invite the Stellenbosch Network community to vote for the best #IdeasforChangeChallenge solution to help Kayamandi become a smart township. Voting closes on the 21st of February 2023.
